"So sorry to hear of Jim's passing. Praying for you Beverly and your family."
James Walden Jacobson, known to friends as "Jim", "Jake", "Jimmy" and "Doc", passed away on September 10, 2017 at the age of 82. Jim was born in a farmhouse in Hagerman, NM, on January 1, 1935 and moved with his family to a dairy farm in Modesto, California when he was 10 years old. He attended Pacific Union College but he contracted Polio, delaying his education by a year, allowing him to meet the love of his life, Beverly McBride. They married on July 26, 1959 and he continued his education at Loma Linda University where he graduated from dental school in 1962. He opened his dental practice in Westminster, CA that same year, where he provided care and comfort to his patients for 46 years, retiring in 2008. He and Beverly made their home in Corona del Mar, CA for 40 years until they retired and moved to Desert Hills, AZ. Jim is fondly admired and remembered for serving in the Youth program at his church for 27 years, being an influential figure in the lives of many teens. He will be forever remembered by his wife of 58 years, Beverly, his daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and John Stacy and Shelli and Scott Foster. Jim "Papa"/"Pop" will also be lovingly remembered by his grandkids Jessica, Alex, Zoe, Jazzmyn, and Tyler. He is also loved and remembered by his brother William, extended family members and countless friends that consider him family. He is pre-deceased by his father Walden, his mother Lillie, his brother Edward and sister Anita. A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held at 3 pm, on Saturday, October 7, at Camelback SDA Church at 5902 E. Camelback Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85018. He will be laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in California.
