Jeffrey Pogemiller
Jeffrey James Pogemiller, 54, of Cave Creek, Arizona, died peacefully with his family by his side on April 14, 2016. Born on December 2, 1961 to Jim and Joan (Fisher) Pogemiller of Wapello Iowa, Jeff was a natural athlete who played baseball, basketball and football for Wapello High School. After graduating from Central College in Pella, Iowa, with a degree in Computer Science, Jeff moved to Arizona and completed his Masters of Business Administration Degree at Arizona State University. In his 30+ years of professional experience in the technology field, Jeff held numerous positions including Programmer, Director and Vice President of Information Systems. Jeff was humble about his many accomplishments, and felt his greatest achievement in life was the family he built with the woman he adored - his wife of 17 years, Allison. This family included Jeff's daughter - Angela (22), Jeff & Allison's son - Ryan (15), and the special relationship he shared with his sister-in-law, Melissa, and Melissa's children - James (17), Jacob (15), and Lauren (14). Many describe Jeff as "the best of the best". He was compassionate, ethical, loyal - and a bit of a prankster! His family and friends have many fond memories of Jeff, and his wonderful sense of humor. He loved to work on projects around the house, to build and create new things, and to focus on both mental and physical health and wellness. Jeff fought a valiant battle with ALS for the past year, and showed those around him what it truly means to focus on what is important in life. While his time on earth feels too short for those remaining, Jeff engrained in everyone who walked this journey with him that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives - that it is the choices and memories you make each day along the way that define your happiness in life. Jeff joins his beloved brother-in-law, Craig Jordan, in Heaven, and is survived on earth by his loving parents, Jim and Joan Pogemiller, his sisters Nikki Beckwith (Mike, Joe, Mark and Jordan), Debbie Jordan (Kristen, Jeff Jr.), Susan DeNova (Tony), and a world full of extended family and friends that will forever treasure his memory. A Celebration of Jeff's Life will be held in Phoenix, Arizona on June 3rd, 2016 at 2pm, The Legacy Ballroom, 4530 East Gold Dust Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85028. No Flowers Please!
