Ruth B. Bradshaw Root, 77, of Chandler, Arizona, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 5, 2016. Born in Troy, New York, she was raised in Cohoes, New York and then moved to Clifton Park, New York. Ruth was the daughter of the late George W. and the late Ruth H. Bufford Bradshaw. She attended Keveny Catholic School. Ruth was an avid Golfer, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a Parishioner of St. Andrews Church in Chandler, AZ. Ruth was employed by the Law Firm of John F. Kelly for 23 years as a legal secretary and retired from the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Kathryn (Michael) Eidens of Clifton Park, NY and Lisa (David) Fitzgerald of Chandler, AZ; adored grandchildren, Jenna (Anibal) Diaz, Scott Fitzgerald and Matthew Eidens; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Sandra Johansen. Private services will be held at a later date. If desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley,1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014-5656. The family of Ruth would like to thank the staff of Hospice of the Valley for all of their care and love provided to Ruth during her illness.
