In loving memory of

Andrew Munk

Andrew McPherson Munk, 17, passed away on December 2, 2015 at his home in Phoenix, AZ. He was born on February 12, 1998 in Bethlehem, PA to Jason and Erin (Batman) Munk.

Andrew grew up in Bethlehem and Easton, PA until he moved to Phoenix last year. He attended Easton Area High School in Easton, PA and Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, AZ. Andrew was known for his crazy antics and sense of humor. From birth it was go, go, go: climbing, crashing, breaking, building, bumping, jumping, cooking, creating. Throughout his youth Andrew enjoyed the team sports of football, basketball, and wrestling. He was an avid learner who particularly enjoyed the sciences. He loved math, chemistry, and physics and planned to become a surgeon. In high school he participated in PTSO and Scholastic Scrimmage, won 2nd place in the Science and Engineering Research Fair at Lehigh University, attended National Youth Leadership Forum for Medicine at Johns Hopkins University, co-created the Electronic Dance Music club, acted as secretary on the Debate Team, and served in his church. Andrew's favorite pastimes were creating music on the computer, playing basketball in the house with his brother and sister, and wrestling with their Springer Spaniel named "Dreamer".

Andrew is survived by his parents Jason and Erin and two siblings Cameron and Lauren;  great-grandmother Lorna (Snarr) Miles; grandparents Brent and Tonya (Brune) Batman, Easton, PA and Randell and Ginger (Miles) Munk, Orem, UT; loving aunts and uncles; cousins Ellie, Matthew, Kaili, William, Alexander, Christian, Charles, Anna, Chloe, Grace, Brent, Genevieve, Harley, Hunter, Hayden, Ellie, and Sabine.

A visitation will be held at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary on 6500 E. Bell Rd., Scottsdale, AZ on Friday, December 11 from 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held at the same location on Saturday, December 12 at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at www.afsp.org.
