"So sorry to hear about Walter passing. He was always so kind and calm and forever looked 30 years younger than his age. I loved working with him out at Intel early on in my career. Best wishes to the Family."

"I have known Walter through work for the past twelve years. He was a truly brilliant man. He had a cheerful disposition and was always friendly and upbeat. He made a mark on the industry and will be missed for not only his knowledge and expertise, but for his personal touch to whatever he did. Prayers of comfort for his family. He is probably designing a better airflow system for heaven right now. It will be in place and working perfectly be the time we all get there. Peace, Sheri Ellard"

Kathy Paine wrote on Mar 15, 2015:

"Dear Amy & Walter\'s family: Elmer & I extend our deepest sympathies on the passing of Walter. We are honored to have counted Walter as a friend and colleague, a finer gentleman hard to find. I first became acquainted with Walter while working for Frank Schmitt at Climatec. Walter was an excellent engineer, patient & kind with a relative newbie engineer (me). And he always made me laugh. Elmer had the privilege of working with Walter and enjoyed those days immensely. Recently, Elmer looked forward to Walter\'s visits to Peterson\'s office and joining him at lunch. Elmer got a kick out of Walter vouching for Elmer as a senior citizen to get the discount at Sweet Tomatoes. We loved reading his travelogues & seeing photos of your trips. Always appreciated the Engineer\'s details of miles traveled and gas mileage of the motor home. Years ago we all had dinner together at the home of Bob Baltes, not long after 9/11. That evening is remembered fondly as a special gathering of friends. I know nothing can replace him & the heartache may never go away, but you have wonderful memories of a dear, beautiful man. I am very sorry we cannot attend the visitation on Wednesday as we will be out of town, but know that our hearts and souls send you blessings of comfort. Kathy & Elmer Paine"
