Carol Keith McWilliams, age 57, of Scottsdale, AZ passed on to Heaven September 24, 2014. She was born on April 15, 1957 in White Plains, NY and was the loving daughter of Jefferson Donald (d) and Nancy Penrose Keith of Scottsdale, AZ and the daughter-in-law of Dr. Clarence Emanuel (d) and Jeanie Eckhardt McWilliams of Westminster, MD.
Carol leaves behind at home her husband of 31 years, Brent and their daughter Caroline Jean; a son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter, Brandon Keith, Jessica Dawn and Cadence Grace McWilliams of Oceanside, CA and sons Bryan Anderson McWilliams and Benjamin Thomas McWilliams of Scottsdale, AZ.
Carol was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She had been profoundly deaf since the age of three but grew up determined not to let this handicap hold her back in life. She committed and forced herself to excel not only in the deaf community, but also in the hearing world. In 1980, following her graduation from Hood College in Frederick, MD, she began a career in Interior Design which would take her to the West Coast and allowed her to use her strengths and creativity, to design and construct hotels for many years. Some of those are now the better known properties in Las Vegas, NV. In recent years, as her health was declining and she was forced to focus on her own survival, Carol continued to enjoy her passion for design whenever possible.
Carol had many beloved family members. These include her brothers, J. (Kristen) Keith of Denver, CO and Andy (Suzie) Keith of Grand Junction, CO; brothers-in-law, Gary McWilliams of Augusta, MO, Wayne (Janice) McWilliams of Hagerstown, MD, Ross (Jim Simpson) McWilliams of Washington, DC, Carl (Becka) McWilliams of Fenwick Island, DE, and Craig McWilliams of Atlanta, GA. She also leaves sisters-in-law Linda (Rick) Broderick of Reisterstown, MD, Beth (Sam) Tressler of Mt. Airy, MD and Jody McWilliams of Chestertown, MD as well as 23 nieces and nephews from these loved ones. Carol had been predeceased by her sister, Karen Keith.
