In loving memory of

Melvin Hill

Melvin Scott Hill, 24, beloved grandson of his namesake, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014. Known to many as "Scotty" or simply "Hill," he was born in San Bernardino, California on September 8, 1989, and grew up in Oak Hills with parents Scott and Carol, and his sister, Nicolette. After graduating from Serrano High School and taking classes at Saddleback Community College, Scott joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Luke AFB, where he found his passion as an air traffic controller. At times delightfully mischievous, Scott brought laughter to a wide circle of family, friends and fellow airmen with whom he was proud to serve. He was an avid Angels fan, and loved the outdoors, whether it was snowboarding or surfing the ocean waves. Scott had a sense for adventure and an indomitable spirit. His smile was infectious and there wasn't anything about him not to love. Scott was sustained by the love of his partner and constant companion, Raechel. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Arizona services to be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, at Hansen Mortuary Desert Hills Chapel, 6500 E. Bell Rd., Scottsdale, 85254. California services to follow at 2:00 p.m. on June 6, 2014, at High Desert Church, 14545 Hook Blvd., Victorville, California, 92394.
