"Mrs. Register was my first teacher and also one of my most memorable. She would gather us around the piano; we would sing as she played and her fingernails clicked on the keys. She read to us, sang to us, and that year I seem to remember discovering a love of dinosaurs. She did absolutely everything one might hope that a Kindergarten teacher would do--and as a result I fell in love with school. Since I\'m a professor now, I guess you could say that I\'ve never left. So on behalf of the hundreds (thousands?) of kids who had the joy of being one of her students, \"THANK YOU, Mrs. Register, for all that you gave to us!\" It was my great privilege to know Rose in another context as well. After college I returned to work at Rancho for a couple of years and our paths again crossed, this time as co-workers (although I often worked at other campuses). It was no surprise to discover that she was fun, funny, and a joy to work with. Perhaps I can speak for my mom and all of those who had the pleasure of working alongside her and say, \"THANK YOU, Rose, for your friendship and the gifts you brought everywhere you went!\" May perpetual light shine on her. And may God\'s grace and peace be with you all as you grieve. Cameron Jorgenson (Fuquay Varina, North Carolina)"

"Dave and Cheryl, I wrote a message yesterday but someone told me it didn\'t go. So just in case I wanted to let you know, we are thinking of you in your time of sorro. It is always so sad to lose a parent. I still want to call my mom when something happens, she is the first one I want to tell. It does get easier with time. If there is anything at all we can do for you, please don\'t hesitate to call, I will never forget how helpful you both were for us when we lost Marlena, and we will always be here for you. Love, Skeets and Judy."

"Armando and I were so sad to hear of the passing of your beautiful Mom, Dave. Please accept our most sincere condolences to you and to your entire family. Your Mom shares the same name as my Mom who I lost almost one year ago (on the 19th). It is never easy when they leave us no matter how long we have them in our lives because selfishly it is never long enough! I hope you find solace in the fact she is now with your Dad, that definitely helps me. She sure sounds like she was a very lovely woman and will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with you Dave."
