"A man?s worth is not material possessions gathered, but the impact he made on those around him. John was kind, respectful and always shared his comedic side, whether in the elevator or in a group meeting. He had intelligence and wisdom beyond his age. He left a lasting impression on many and he will live on in the lives of those who had the privilege of spending time, and a funny quip, with him. You and your family will be in my prayers Mrs. Greene? We will all miss John."
"I had the honor and pleasure of serving with John, he in the Senate and me in the House. We was a good, kind and honest man. I am grateful to have known him. I send my prayers and condollances to his family and loved ones."
"John Greene came to the Senate as a successful lawyer and business man.As Senator and as President of the Senate, John was a thinking, caring man who served his constituents well. He also served all of Arizona in his next state appointments. He will be missed by many for his calm, steady observations and work."
"I have known John from as far back as his days at Dial Corp. John was always a superb tax technician but much more importantly, he was a kind and decent man. John brought his gracious spirit to every job he has ever held and I will miss him as will most of the citizens of Arizona."
"John was my mentor and good friend. His support and encouragement in my career dramatically changed my life. He taught me what it means to be a skilled tax lawyer. We campaigned together in his first campaign for state senator. His sense of humor made me laugh no matter what the circumstances. Even today, his funny sayings stay with me and bring a smile. His influence and kindness will always be remembered. We extend our deepest sympathies to Janice, Richard and Christopher. Bob & Darlene Hanula"
"To The Family of John Greene,Mr.President(AZ Senate) I had the pleasure to work with John back in the 1980s as a small business advocate(lobbyist) and on issues concerning women, children and the elderly. You could always count on John to listen to what you had to say and would always allow you to make you case.I recall acouple of times regarding certain pieces of legislation that were troubling to me I asked John to take a look see and find out why these bills were stuck in Committee your word at the proper time and place proved to me once again what a great Leader he is and was at the time. Mr.President we could use some of your leadership capabilities in our current Legislative body but never the less it is time for you to rest in peace for your have served the people of Arizona unselfishly and with dignity and I for one consider it an honor to have known and worked with you back in the day. My thoughts and prayers are with your family for I know the loss and feel the pain. In memory of Lois M.Adams March 3,1927-November 18,2009 Love in Christ Larry"
"My prayers go out to John\'s family. I worked at the Department of Revenue while John was the director before I retired. He always had a smile on his face and he had a wonderful sense of humor. I worked on the same floor as he did and whenever we would meet he always had a good morning or a hi - how are you. We would chat as we waited for the elevator. John was a down to earth type of person with a kind heart. I was sorry to hear of his passing and will keep him and his family in my prayers. God bless you Barbara Funk"
"It was with a great degree of sadness that I learned of John?s death. I covered the Legislature for the Arizona Republic when John was Senate president. He was a very, very decent man. John always had time to see me; if I knew the questions to ask, he would answer them. Following his legislative service, John went on to hold numerous public positions. John was an important, positive force in many people?s lives. Arizona is a better place for his service."
"Always a gentleman, often a scholar and most importantly, always a man of his word. Added bonus: a genuinely nice guy who really knew how to tell a great story. My condolences to the Greene family for your loss."
