"My condolences to you. Our parents were friends and we crossed paths throughout our lives. I remember my oldest\'s first Halloween when we visited you and she and I took the kids trick or treating. We moved and lived far apart, but I always remember having such a good time when we were together."

"I meet Dorothy in 6th grade at Hopi & we were fast friends from the get go. We\'d often go the the old Royal Palms resort, buy a PayDay bar in the lobby & climb up the stairs to the outlook where we\'d eat them & check out the view. We walked everywhere with our German Shepherds, Dereck & Elsa. We\'d go horseback riding every Saturday at Cactus Rock stables where we had favorite horses & would ask for them every week. She always wanted to spend the night at my house because of all the kids.(I have 6 brothers & sisters) & I always wanted to go to her\'s for the peace & quite! We\'d play the card game, Spit, for hours and beef jerkey was the prize. Her parents took me with them several times on vacation at the Hotel Del Coronado, where Dorothy & I had our own room (connecting). We\'d often walk on the beach, sometimes where we were not suppose to be! (military side)& then one day we meet Dave & the rest was history for them! I was her maid of honor at their wedding. She will always & forever be my best childhood friend. Dorothy had a strong faith & I know she\'s with the Lord. We will all miss her. Love to Dave, Trish & Chris. Elaine"

"May you rest in peace sweet Dorothy. My condolences to the James family. She was such a wonderful woman with a heart of gold. I\'ll bet she is up in heaven surrounded by lots of fur babies as she was such a great advocate for rescue animals. Give my Rex, Tonka & Reba a pet for me, Dorothy. "

Cyndi Haugeland Munch wrote on Jul 16, 2013:

"Dorothy was a terrific lady. She was my closest friend in high school, my matron of honor, and someone who (according to my daughter) made me laugh more than anyone else. She made her mark taking care of her family, with her many artistic accomplishments and in her concern for Labradors and other animals in need of kindness and care. This was so sudden and so soon and I am so sorry for this loss. "
