"Mr. Hendricks opened Saguaro High School my freshman year. He was always kind and understanding, and a cheerleader for student success in all areas. He made a positive impact on the lives of so many students over the years. Scottsdale students across the district were fortunate to be blessed by his leadership. My prayers for comfort go out to his wonderful family."

"To me, Bob Hendricks always has been, and shall always be, ?Coach Hendricks? - or just ?Coach.? He managed, controlled, coaxed, persuaded and demanded the best out of our Arcadia High School varsity football team on which I was proud to serve in the 1964 and 1965 seasons. He was instrumental in helping so many young boys become young men through his principled leadership both on and off the football field. His rules were tough but fair, subject to violation only at high risk. An errant team could expect long practice sessions followed by running ?stadiums? for infractions. And in so doing, he molded 35+ rowdy teenagers into a coherent, focused, effective and winning football team. To us it seemed that he could do anything. He was poised, gracious, fair, honest, and ethical. He was the best. He was Coach."

"Bob was one of the finest gentlemen I have ever had the privilege of knowing. As a new transfer student from out of state, I knew no one at Scottsdale H. S., but Bob allowed me to join the baseball team and thus gave me an "in" to student life. We happened to become neighbors many years later and he and Pat have remained friends, never forgetting a Christmas card or a note of sympathy for a family loss. The world will be a poorer place with his loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with Pat and the family. May God welcome this wonderful man."
