Our father and protector, Edward P. Shea, was reunited with our mother Helen in heaven on October 5th. He was 86 years old. In our life with our Dad we knew him to be fiercely loyal, incredibly fair and honest, and holder of a great sense of humor. He loved the Chicago Cubs, Notre Dame football, and spirited conversation. But most of all, his family was his greatest treasure. His example of how to live an honorable life lives on in all of us. We will miss him everyday, but have comfort in knowing he is with his beloved Helen. Please join us in a visitation Friday, October 12th at Hansen Mortuary Chapel, 8314 N. 7th Street, Phoenix from 6 - 8pm, Rosary at 7 pm. Mass at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 330 W. Coral Gables Drive, Phoenix, 10am Saturday, October 13th. In lieu of flowers, we would love for you to make a donation to your favorite charity in his name. Please visit www.hansenmortuary.com to submit online condolences.

"To All the Shea children and Your Families, I was so sorry to read of Ed’s death in the paper. I was sorry to have lost track of you all after the death of your precious mother and my best friend. I did, however run in to Ed having lunch with Eddie a couple of times. I hope Ed did not suffer too much in his final days. My love and best wishes to you all. Margaret Townsend"

"We loved Uncle Ed and will miss him dearly. I have great memories of him and Aunt Helen. Here is one (forgive me if I get the age wrong)? It was the first trip to Phoenix with Granny. As we drove from the airport, he asked Granny, "Did you enjoy your 83rd birthday?". I said, "Uncle Ed, she just turned 85". He said "I know that, but after 84 we start counting backwards!". We laughed and laughed. Granny and I used to recount that story to each other a lot. We were blessed to have Uncle Ed at the top of our family tree! It must be a beautiful reunion in Heaven but we will miss him here. Shea family, you are always in our hearts. What a legacy he has left in this world! We love you."

"So very sorry to hear of Eds’ Passing. As another Chicagoan I valued his friendship. May he Rest In Peace. The Obit was fitting and beautiful."

"Julie, Dennis and Family, Your thoughtful words about your father was such a testament to the honorable life he led. You are all blessed to have years of memories to cherish every day. We hope those help fill the void that is left. Your father will be remembered in our prayers and thoughts."
