"Erin and Patrick, I’m so sorry to hear of your mother’s death. I hadn’t been in touch this past year so was very surprised to read of her passing. I met her at the Franciscan Renewal Center a few years back and became a ’lunch buddy’ with her and a few other great ladies. She was a kind and caring person. I’ll always remember her love for dessert and making sure we had some at each luncheon! She was very proud of you both and loved to tell us how you were doing. I’m sure you will miss her greatly. "Dear Erin and Patrick, It is with great sorrow to hear of the passing of your mother Carolyn. I met her at the Franciscan Renewal Center and became part of her Casa Diva lunch group. Just a week before her passing we spoke on the phone and had plans to see each other. Unfortunately, we did not meet. Only a few months ago she called to tell me she had finished reading a book, "Shanghai Girls" and suggested it to me. She had remembered a conversation we had many years ago and thought I would enjoy the book as much as she did. She was thoughtful, generous, and caring this way: always thinking of others .I was lucky to have known her. She will be missed.
