Vernon Dale Cave

Cave, Vernon Dale born December 14, 1937 in Cherokee, Iowa, passed away October 6, 2009 in Phoenix. Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle and Poker player extraordinaire. Vernon passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Vernon owned several businesses in Flagstaff for 30 years before moving to Phoenix in 1991. Vernon is survived by his wife Y-Vette, daughters Sherri Brooks (Terry), Sandi Balmaceda (Ruben), Shelly Almendarez (Arnold), sons Thayer Thacker (Lynn), Thaddeus Thacker (Susanne), 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; sister Vivian Bode (Doug); and a niece and nephew. Services will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009, 11:00 am at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary, 6500 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix.
