"Anne Marie, my sympathies. I always remember the stories you told of your husband when you and I were together at that conference in NM. He sounded like such a great guy, and he was lucky to have you as his loving wife."

"I had the privilege of working with Jesus organizing Latinos in Pinal County in the 70s and 80s. He was successful in establishing the Pinal Hispanic Council which now services Latinos in that county. I will alway remember Jess for his vision and sense of fair play and his willingness to give of himself to help others. He is one of those quite leaders that served his community because it was the right thing to do and not for his personal aggrandizement. I will miss him and the Latino community will morn his loss."

"Great person. Warm and caring. Played basketball with him at Mesa College, during Sunday mornings, for a number of years. Will remember him fondly. Always had a good word to say. Tremendous competitor. I remember one Sunday morning he brought his dad in, to the gym. It was obvious that he had great love for him. And, it was evident that his dad was very proud of "Chuy"."

"To Chuy’s family, I had the privilege to play basketball with Chuy at MCC and Carl Hayden and he would even bring his kids. When Chuy was waiting for the next game he would work with his kids honing their basketball skills. Chuy was one of the "guys" and got along with everyone! I believe Chuy was a great father and friend and will be missed by those that he touched. God Bless you Chuy and my condolences to your family. Your friend- Manny"
