"Dear Paul
Peg Cashman told me of Dorothy's death. I was sorry to hear the news. I remember Dorothy fondly whenever I went to Kalona and either she came to Peg's, or we went down to the quilting shop. Such a kind and gentle person. I'm sure she will continue to leave that gentle touch with all those who remember her. Know of my thoughts and prayers for all the family.
Peg's sister, Jeanne, in Des Moines. "
Richard Libby wrote on Feb 20, 2020:
"Dorothy was like a mother to me. She invited me into her home to share time with her family as if I was one of her kids while I lived in Iowa for several years. Most memorable was when she, and her best friend and daughter Cande, taught me how to quilt and put me to work doing jobs around the farm (personally I think she saw that as a way to keep me busy and out of trouble--and it worked!). While I know Dorothy is in a better place with our Lord, she will be sorely missed on this side of eternity. Paul, Cande, Dave, Delwin and the rest of the siblings, I'm so sorry for your loss and have been praying that the Lord would keep you strong during this especially difficult time. Love, Rich Libby"
