Clara N. Wolter White
August 17, 1911 - March 30, 2008

HER LEGACY....Clara N. Wolter White age 96 of Maquoketa Iowa died on Sunday evening March 302008.0 at the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa Iowa. Clara N. Wallace was born on August 17 1911 in Franz Ontario Canada to George Wallace and Helen (Burmaster) Wallace. She was educated and raised in Canada and at the age of 16 she followed her brother to Chicago Illinois where she worked as a telephone operator and met her future husband John G. Wolter. They were married on October 21 1933 in Chicago Illinois. He preceded her in death in 1961. She then married Edwin White in October of 1966 in Des Moines Iowa. He preceded her in death on February 10 2002. Clara had first worked as a telephone operator and then moved with her husband John to Tipton/Stanwood Iowa eventually settling in Maquoketa and working for the laundry department and in the operating room at the Jackson County Public Hospital. She then became a press operator working at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa for over ten years. After her husband John's death she married Edwin White and they lived in Des Moines and retired to Arkansas eventually returning back to Des Moines due to health concerns and being closer to family. For the past 14 months Clara had been a resident at Clover Ridge Place in Maquoketa a place she was happy to call home. Clara was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bulls fan. She loved doing crafts playing cards bingo and spending time with family. She was known by her family as a loving person with a great sense of humor who was always comfortable wherever she went.



HER FAMILY....Clara is survived by: her children- Robert (Donna) Wolter of Marion IA Carol (Tom) Wirth of Elwood IA & John (Judy) Wolter of Maquoketa IA; step-children- Bob (Judy) White of Des Moines IA & Judy (Tom) Cash of Palmer Lake CO; 11 grandchildren & 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband- John and her 2nd husband- Edwin a brother a sister & 3 step-sisters.



HER FAREWELL....A celebration of Clara's life will be held at 1 P.M. Thursday April 32008.0 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa with Pastor Judy Heinrich of the First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery Maquoketa Iowa. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Clara N. Wolter White Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa where Clara's family will receive friends on Thursday April 32008.0 from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Service Time.
