"Sincerest condolences to the Ruiz family. From. Rose Marie Degollado Vargas"
" A precious one from us has gone, a voice we love is stilled. A place is vacant in our hearts which never can be filled. God saw the road was getting rough, the hills were hard to climb. He gently closed those loving eyes and whispered, "peace be thine." The weary hours and days of pain, the sleepless nights have passed. The ever patient, worn out frame has found sweet rest at last."
Pedro Victoriano Ruiz, of Dale, Texas, was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, November 16th, 2019. He was lovingly called "Pete" his entire life. He fought a long, hard battle for his life and towards the end remained courageous and fearless. He was born in Garfield, Texas on September 9, 1953. The eldest son of 10 kids including 6 sisters (Irene, Lidia, Kathy, Virginia, Felice and Joann) and 3 brothers (John, Larry and Mike). He married his high school sweetheart, Adriana Carrillo, on July 31, 1973. Married for 46 years, they made a life together raising 4 children, Olivia "Brandy" Sepeda, Pedro Daniel Ruiz, Jr., Miranda Ruiz Leal and Naomi Ruiz Phillips. He was later blessed with 11 grandchildren, Alexis Garcia, Briana Garcia, Branden Cruz, Ciara Ruiz, Pedro H. Ruiz, Antonio Ruiz, Julian Leal, Madison Phillips, Andrew Phillips, Daniel Phillips and Luna Phillips. Towards the end of his life Pete eagerly anticipated the arrival of his first great grand baby Santana Emery Ybarra. Pete found his passion for cars early in life, as a mechanic at Henry Moore Subaru. His love of cars and fixing things lead him to a lifelong career in the automotive industry. He eventually retired from BMW of Austin in 2012. When he wasn't at work you could find him working in his yard or on his cars. He was an outdoorsman at heart and loved being outside, fishing and barbecuing for his family. He loved classic westerns and classic country music. He had a genuine sense of humor that came out when least expected. He was an extremely hard working man with "old school" work ethic and an amazing ability to be prepared for anything. He was genuinely loved and respected by many and his presence will be greatly missed. Pete is survived by his father Pedro Ruiz Sr. & numerous extended relatives. He is preceded in death by his son Pedro D. Ruiz Jr. III, his sister Irene Banda, and his mother Gloria Ruiz. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Texas Home Health Hospice for the outstanding care received. Family and friends will gather on Friday, November 22nd, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM. A memorial service will follow on Saturday, November 23rd, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Harrell Funeral Home 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, Texas 78745
