Claudette Basil
May 14, 1936 - August 16, 2019

Claudette Joyce Basil passed away August 16th, 2019 at Sunnybrook Living Care Center in Fairfield, Iowa. Claudette was born May 14th, 1936 to Edgar and Elnora Lorene (Coble) Basil of Los Angeles, California. Claudette lived her early years in California moving with her family to lowa where she met her husband Maynard Warner of Blakesburg. Claudette and Maynard married on January 9, 1954 and raised seven children on their farm near Douds, lowa. Claudette spent most of her life as a homemaker raising her children. She always had a large garden and worked hard helping on the farm with the livestock and crops. After her children were raised, Claudette worked outside of the home as a nanny in the Fairfield area. Claudette loved collecting antiques. She was an avid pie bird collector and kept busy traveling around finding rare and unique pie birds, her collection contained thousands of pie birds from many different countries. Later in her life Claudette lived in Batavia. Claudette will be missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. Claudette is survived by daughters Connie and Mark Burnham of Lockridge, Lori and Mike Orwig of Indianola, and sons Monte and Lori Warner of Ottumwa, Curt and Carol Warner of Stockport, brother Neale Basil of California. 15 grandchildren: Michael Warner, Ann Warner, Corby Warner, Cody Warner, Courtney Hornberg, Cory Warner, Brandon Warner, Whitney Warner, Tyler Warner, Nathan Warner, Kyle Burnham, Drew Burnham, Allyson Orwig, Schaefer Orwig, Jack Orwig. 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Claudette was preceded in death by daughter Vicki, sons Guy and Brian a grandson Matthew, her parents, a sister and a brother.
