Kenneth Halstead 69 of Hamburg, IA, passed away on May 7, 2019. Celebration of life gathering with military honors will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at the home of Belinda Kimsey, 304 4th Ave, in Malvern. Loess Hills Funeral Home of Malvern assisted the family with arrangements.
Memorials: Per the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorials are to Children's Hospital in Omaha to help kids with cancer in honor of Kenneth.
Kenneth Albrecht Halstead, 69 of Hamburg, IA, passed away in El Paso, Texas on May 7, 2019.
Kenneth was born on February 28, 1950 in Hudson, New York, the son of Albrecht Kenneth and Frances Alma (Nielsen) Halstead.
Kenneth and Amelia Kay "Millie" Kalina were united in marriage on October 16, 1992.
Kenneth was a Vietnam Era retired United States Army veteran, serving from August 5, 1968 to November 30, 1988. He enjoyed fishing, going on river trips with Bill, dressing up as Santa, traveling, "looking" for gold, and taking "casino" trips. He especially enjoyed his last trip to Las Vegas with his nephew Damon.
Kenneth was precede in death by his father Albrecht; and brother James Halstead.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 26 ½ years, Millie Halstead of Hamburg; sons, Eric Halstead of North Carolina, and Raymond Miller of Florida; daughter, Rebecca Halstead of Florida; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; mother, Frances Halstead of Oviedo, FL; brother, Otto Halstead of Florida; sister, Linda Matheus of Florida; his "brother by another mother", Bill Salmons of Iowa; extended other relatives; and by many close friends.
