Doris J. Goss
March 18, 1936 - June 24, 2019

HOUSTON, MN - Doris J. Goss, 83, of Houston, MN passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 24, 2019, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI.

She was born on March 18, 1936, in Winona, MN to Henry and Margaret (Grant) Lockwood. She was a 1954 graduate of Winona Senior High School. She graduated from Methodist Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, MN. Doris worked as a nurse at Methodist Hospital in Rochester and Valley View Nursing Home in Houston. On February 14, 1958, she was united in marriage to Lowell Goss by The Reverend Arnold Mennicke at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Winona. Doris had a great love for her career as a nurse. After she raised her children she went back to work as a nurse at the Sauer Memorial Home in Winona. Doris' religion and faith were very important to her. She was a faithful servant to her Lord. In her spare-time she enjoyed showing her husband's classic 1986 semi-tractor and trailer at the shows they would travel to. Most of all, she enjoyed spending her time with her grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her husband, Lowell; four children: Kent Goss of Winona, Wendy (Greg) Smith of Menomonie, WI, Janet (Gary) Ostrander of Goodview, MN and Elizabeth (Michael) Popplewell of Houston, MN; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and five siblings; and two brothers-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kathleen; two siblings; and one great-granddaughter, Isabella.

There will be a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019, at the Houston Baptist Church in Houston, MN. Burial will be in the Money Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the Church.

Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Houston is assisting the family with arrangements.
