Velda Barbara FisherVelda Barbara Fisher of Del Valle, passed peacefully and quietly in herhome, Feb. 22, 2006. Born July 2, 1931 to Arne B. Larson, Ph. D., Dean of Music, University of South Dakota, and Aster Landquist Jacobs, she is survived by her husband of 58 years, Francis C. Fisher, U.S.A.F. retired, James F. Fisher, M.D. and Wanda Zaskoda Fisher, Seguin, Steven M. and Terry Morganti-Fisher, Austin, Rick F. Fisher, Ph.D., New Braunfels, Karl J. Fisher, Ph.D. and Teresa Fisher, Petaluma, CA, Karen M. and Robert M. Moritz, Fair Oaks Ranch, Mark A. Fisher and John P. Fisher, both of San Antonio, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She will be buried with her daughter, Christine, in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio. She was valedictorian, Class of 48, Brackenridge H.S., and graduated with honors from U.T.S.A in 1977. She had a great love of books and learning, and ran Veldas Used Books in Del Valle until she was no longer able.
