Winston Odell MorelandWinston Odell Skeeter? Moreland, 85, of Manchaca, Texas passed away March 3, 2006.He was born July 17, 1920 to Tommy and Lois Moreland in Runnels County, Texas.In 1939 Mr. Moreland graduated from Norton High School and then attended NYA School at Inks Lake where he studied auto body repair. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, May 27, 1942 and served in WWII with the 2006 Ordinance Maintenance Company near London, England. In the same year he enlisted he married Lil, on September 19th in Manchaca. After being discharged from the army in 1945 he resumed work at Swearingen-Armstrong Ford in Austin until opening Moreland Appraisal Service. In 1954 he became the IADA affiliate in Austin and later served as the IADA National secretary-treasurer.Mr. Moreland was a charter member of the VFW Post 3377. He also served as trustee of the Oak Hill-Manchaca School District. A member of the United Methodist Church of Manchaca for over 45 years, he served as leader in various capacities and was a charter member of the M & M senior group.Mr. Moreland was preceded in death by his parents and brother Orval Moreland.He is survived by his wife, Lillie Alice Meredith Moreland; sons, Nealan Moreland and wife Janice of San Antonio, Texas, Glenn Moreland and wife Patty of Fort Davis, Texas; grandchildren, Stacy McClelland and husband Rob, Shana Rich and husband Sean, Doug Moreland and wife Suzan, Kenna Kulczar and husband David, Tyrel Moreland and wife Annie and Aimee Meredith Moreland; five great granddaughters; sister, Pat Clifton and husband Joe of Memphis, Tennessee and sisterin-law Shirley Moreland of Houston, Texas. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 5, 2006, at Harrell Funeral Home, Austin.Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 6, 2006 at Manchaca United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery, Manchaca, Texas.
