Francis D. Dick CoveyFrancis Dickinson Covey, age 90, passed away June 27, 2006.Mr. Covey was born September 7, 1915 to James G. Covey and Katherine Knox Covey in Coudersport, PA.He graduated from Banks Business College, Philadelphia, University of Utah and was a WWII overseas Veteran. He retired as a loan officer from First Security Bank now Wells Fargo in Salt Lake City, Utah.On June 5, 1949 he married Martha Froehlich in Twin Falls, Idaho.As a resident of Salt Lake City, Utah for 56 years, he was active in Boy Scouts, Western Boys Baseball Hillview League President; R. W. Moore DeMolay Chapter Dad; he was also a faithful member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church Vestryman; Mt. Moriah Lodge #2 AF and AM of Utah Treasurer and 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason.Dick was an active member of Utah Rose Society, a consulting rosarian, rose judge and a master gardener. He enjoyed gardening, tennis, golf, bowling and fishing.He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mrs. H.F. Elizabeth Winchell; brothers, Dr. John K and James F. Covey.Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Martha; daughter Margie Gordon & husband David of Austin, TX; son, Bruce Covey & wife Sydney of Dallas, TX and 2 step granddaughters.Graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 30, 2006 at Onion Creek Memorial Park. Directions: From IH35 South, exit Onion Creek Parkway. Turn right on FM1626 and go 1 miles. Turn right on Old Manchaca Road and enter cemetery.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Pauls Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, 261 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, Utah 84102.
