"Rest in peace and love forever Laurie. First heard your beautiful song Arms of a Dream on night time radio in England in the early 1990's. That song has given me so much pleasure and comfort for years. Smells like truth is a very special album."

"In the early 90's a friend of mine played 'Arms of a Dream' for me and the song just blew me away. Such breathtaking beauty, it is still one of my favorite songs ever. Thank you for the music."

"Laurie and I were 'more than friends' for several years when we both lived in MD, many years ago. I was very sad to read of her death. Although we did not keep in touch it still feels like such a loss."

Tim Van Nieuwenhove wrote on Feb 7, 2017:

"As it's been months since I heard from Laurie, I've just looked her up on Google and then found this. Devastated. Laurie and I got to know each other in the early 2000s when I first heard her beautiful song "Arms of a dream" on a complilation album. It stood out like no other. I found her emailaddress online and was able to contact her. What a warm and generous person she was! We swapped CD's and talked to each other for years by email. Ever since her personal health issues things got worse and we lost contact. Still don't know why it was so hard to keep track of her. I've missed her a lot these past few years and I'm sure going to miss her a whole lot more now that she's gone. Rest in peace, wonderfully talented person. Love from your old friend in Belgium. Tim."

"Once upon a time, Laurie and I used to cross paths when we went to get our hair cut. Austin was slacking then and Two Nice Girls were making lots of music. It was a good time to live in Austin. R.I.P. Laurie."

"There are so many memories. OConnell St in Dublin at 2 AM coming back from recording. A review in the NY Times you couldnt buy! Song to The Siren, Larry Monroe. The beautiful walls in the house i had to sell.... Rest in peace, sweet one."

Nigel Grainge wrote on Jan 31, 2017:

"I signed Laurie to my Ensign record label around 1990. We had a fun creative time making her LP, 'Smells like truth'. I was, and remain extremely proud of that LP. Laurie was not a natural solo performer at that time, and struggled with the demands expected for the 'paths to success'. We never had a cross word, and I remember her fondly as super creative, with a unique sound, and brilliant songwriting skills. My sincerest condolences to her family and loved ones. Nigel Grainge"
