"So sorry for ya'll's loss. Bonnie and I express our condolences."
Julia Ann Evans Rayborn of Austin passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 21, 2017. Julia was born April 22, 1938, in Reading Berks, England to Reginald A. Evans and Vera Victoria Mae Dallen. She was the only girl of four brothers. At 18 years of age, she left her family, culture and native country to move to the United States to follow the man she loved. She married SSGT. Richard Rayborn of the United States Air Force and was happily married for 60 years. She loved her new country and worked hard to become a US Citizen in 1960.
Julia was a dedicated military spouse, living in six different states while rearing a family. At 40 years old, she began her working career as Merchandise Clerk at Foleys until retirement. As a brave and caring woman, she made sacrifices her entire life for her children and husband, putting her family first, always making sure they were fed and well dressed. She was known for her excellent cooking, amazing sewing skills, elaborate gift-wrapping , love of gold jewelry and a big, generous heart. Her love of coffee was well known, and she would often invite anyone to sit, visit, and have a cup with her.
Julia leaves behind her husband, Richard Rayborn, daughter Kelly (Clay) Gourley, son Ricky Rayborn, youngest son Todd Rayborn (Daniella Goldiano), granddaughter Kingsley Gourley, step granddaughters Jennifer (David) Thompson, Amanda (Memo) Calles, Melissa (Mike) Cardinale, five step great grandchildren and many close friends. She also leaves behind her family in England: Colin (Bette) Evans, Martin (Val) Evans and Darrel (Margaret) Evans, Steve (Sue) Evans, four nieces, six nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter-in- law Becky Kribbs Rayborn.
She will be taken home to England in September 2017 to rest in peace with her family.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Diane Miller for providing love, comfort and care to our Meme.
