"Lit a candle in memory of Keith Oertli"
Devoted husband and loving daddy, Gregory Keith Oertli, was called to his eternal home in Heaven on July 17, 2017.
Keith was born on November 11, 1961 in Austin, Texas to Cecil and Myrtle Oertli. He spent the majority of his life in the greater Austin area and raised his family in Dripping Springs.
Keith is survived by the love of his life, Christine Orwick Oertli and by daughters Amy Crowson and husband Henry and their daughter Rose of Johnson City and by Rebecca Daniels and husband Blake of Austin. He is also survived by his mother, Myrtle Hickman Oertli, and siblings; Scott Oertli, Monte Oertli, and Stephanie Oertli and by his in-laws; Jim and Barbara Orwick. Keith is preceded in death by his father Cecil Alvin Oertli.
Keith married his high school sweetheart on October 6, 1984. Their marriage was beautiful example of a relationship rooted in Christ. Together they shared a love for their family and church. The Oertli family have been parishioners of St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Dripping Springs since 1998. Keith was a key member of the Knights of Columbus. Through his active involvement he became a Fourth Degree Knight and in 2004 he was elected as Grand Knight. He particularly enjoyed participating in the fish fries sponsored by the Knights. He and his wife were involved with the ACTS retreat program, mentoring others on their spiritual journey.
Keith had many passions, but his greatest was his family. Keith adored his daughters Amy and Rebecca. He supported and encouraged them in all their endeavors and was a constant source of love to them both. He cherished watching them graduate high school, college, and walking them down the aisle. His greatest joy was being able to welcome his first grandchild, Rose Crowson. In addition to his own daughters, Keith was a mentor and father figure to many others including his many nieces and nephews.
Keith grew up a loyal Longhorn fan. With the support of his wife Chrissy, he completed his degree in Marketing from the University of Texas at Austin. He later went on to have a successful career in telecommunication sales. Keiths work ethic and management style were admired by those who worked with him and for him. Outside of his career, Keith had many other interests. These include mountain biking, fixing cars, brewing beer, fishing, shooting, cooking, masonry and music. Keith quickly mastered each with ease. His favorite weekends were spent with his wife fishing in Rockport.
Keith will be remembered for his wisdom and wit. He was a man of few words but when he did speak, it was always worth your time.
All services will be held at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Dripping Springs for those who wish to pay their respects to Keiths memory. Rosary and visitation will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 with Visitation from 5-7 pm and Rosary at 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 10 am with a graveside service at Driftwood Cemetery following Mass. "Prayers to Keith's family to help them with their loss. Keith was one of the good guys, always helpful and always cheerful. He hired me at Anixter and was my manager for several years. He put together a great crew there and mentored many of us."
"Keith hired me in July of 1994 to work for him at Anixter. I reported directly to Keith for approximately 2-1/2 years. He was a thoughtful leader who understood the motivations and ambitions of the people that worked for him as well as the people we interfaced with at a business level. I will always credit Keith with helping me find my way in data networking business. His (Keith's) business intuition was always solid and well thought out. I considered him a friend beyond our mutual work experiences. I could always sense the pride when he spoke of his daughters and their accomplishments. I hope time will lift some of the burden that these days will bring. Dennis Tuel"
"Keith was such a good manager when I worked with him for many years, I would call him for advise over the years. We had such good times at work. He will be missed, always open to talk and suggestions about a game plan. My heart heavy with news, my prays go out to his wonderful family. Sue McClurg"
