SL Williamson

SL Williamson age 86 of Albany died Saturday, November 4, 2017 at West Oak Health Center in Austin.

SL was born on August 12, 1931 in Eastland County Tx. to Bonnie Law and Nola Barksdale Williamson. He married Eula Beth Martin on August 16, 1954. She preceded him in death in 1988.

SL worked in oil fields for three decades. He loved the outdoors! He played golf until his legs gave out and even then, rode the golf cart to watch and collect cans. He also had a great love of fishing. He spent many days in a boat with a fishing pole and worms. A pleasure all his family shared.

SL was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Eula Beth, five brothers; Varner Williamson, Joe Williamson, Bonnie Williamson, Coleman Williamson, and Malcolm Williamson. Four sisters; Willie Mae Hudman, Virgie Beutel, Clara Patterson, and Shirley Notgrass.

He was a great Dad to daughters; Janie Telford and husband Larry, Debra Wirsdorfer and husband Don, son; Steven Williamson. The best Papa to Misty Gorzeman, Brandy Hull, Marissa Telford, Zachary Telford and Joshua Wirsdorfer. Great Grandpa to Jacob Telford, Jaden Telford and Madison Hull. He is also survived by one brother CW Williamson, two sisters Lillie Patton, and husband Gene and Sybil Hamrick and husband Bob and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Albany Cemetery Pavilion, visitation is 11:00 - 1:00 at Morehart Funeral Home prior to service.

"SL was such a great person and Ive only known him these last 8 months as I worked with him at west oaks he made my days there very interesting. He always responded to papa best and thats what I called him he was always so with it when he would answer and was always making me laugh :) its not the same going into work and not seeing him especially being I started there a week after he was admitted I loved SL as if he was my own papa and he did so many things that I would hear stories that my grandpa did like shucking Pecans. He sure will be missed and has a spot in my heart always!!!! To his family it was great getting to know yall and Im sorry for yalls loss SL was a great blessing in my life and Im so very glad I was able to meet him love DeDe"
