Norberto Trey Eduardo Jimenez, III, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at his home in Austin, TX. He was 38.
Trey is survived by his parents, Trevia L. Jimenez (nee Miller) of Kansas City, MO and Norberto G. Jimenez, Jr. and Step-Mother Delores C. Jimenez of Corpus Christi, TX; Sisters, Biancka D. Jimenez and Natalia M. Jimenez of Kansas City, MO, Kathleen Jimenez, Megan A. Ortiz (Step-sister), and Richard B. Ortiz, Jr.(Step-Brother) of Victoria, TX; Grandfather Edward L. Miller of Kansas City, and many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces, Great-Nephews, and Cousins. He is preceded in death by Grandmothers Trevia D. Miller of Kansas City, MO and Esther Aguirre of Victoria, TX, and Aunt Linda S. Lopez of Victoria.
Trey was born on December 16, 1979, in the Naval Regional Hospital in Charleston, SC. He was the third child, and the first son, of Trevia L. Jimenez (nee Miller) and Norberto G. Jimenez, Jr. The path of his education spanned different states: Goose Creek, SC, Austin, TX, Kansas City, MO, Portland, TX. He graduated from Victoria High School, Victoria, TX in 1998 and graduated with an Associate Degree from The Art Institute of Houston in 2000. He started his Television News career with KZTV in Corpus Christi, TX. After moving to Austin in 2002, he began working for KXAN-TV as a News Video Editor. Trey was passionate about his profession and always displayed an admirable work ethic. Trey was an excellent conversationalist, interested in a career in voice overs, and had a desire to pursue a writing career. He was a regular at Austin's Alamo Drafthouse, enjoyed Italian cinema and had a deep voice that could fill a room.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Harrell Funeral Home at 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, TX. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to a worthy charity.
