"At the office, Donna and I used to dedicate time almost every single day to sit and talk cats. She even gifted my two kitties their favorite toy. And most Thursdays, she and I would revel in the simple pleasure of "ice-cream day" at the capitol cafeteria together. I've missed her spunky disposition and characteristic accent since she retired, and it saddens me deeply to know she and I will never cross paths again in this life. My heart goes out to the Miles family."

"All the images of Donna that run through my mind, her smile that would light up a room, her absolute joy when talking about her grandkids, watching her dance and letting her convince me to dance with her, quiet talks and loud concerts in the rain. Such a kind, loving, beautiful woman. Although I've known her most of my life, I am so happy to have spent the last 7 years really getting to know her and be close to her. In my head I hear our "love you...love you too sweetie" it's how we ended every visit. Until we meet again DK! Our love and prayers to you Pat, MJ & Larry"

"Although I havent seen Donna since high school, I still have fond memories of her. I use to tell her she looked like a Barbie Doll because she was so pretty. She was sweet and kind to everyone. Im saddened by her passing as we were looking forward to seeing her at our 40th class reunion coming in September. We will acknowledge her as one of our own Covington High School Class of 1978s Chargers. May she Rest in perfect peace. Prayers for the family."

"I have so many memories of Donna Kay but one that stands out is she and I ridding in the back seat of my pink Volvo soon after I got it. Brad was driving Pat in shotgun and we were sliding across the leather seats in the back. Oh Brother Where art Thou music blaring from the stereo, Ill Fly Away comes on and we both begin to sing...her in her perfect Tennessee hillbilly and me and my Okie girl loudness. Somewhere in that song I knew we were sharing a special moment...we held hands, singing, laughing and sliding across that back seat. My heart was full of Donna Kay then, the joy in her voice, the shine in her eyes and the knowledge that the moment would last forever. Love you sweet friend"

"Donna, You were such a good friend. You always had a smile on your face and great stories of you growing up. You were always there when someone needed a hand. You were also so courageous, you always stood your ground and said what was on you mind and that is what made you, you. We had fun! you made our days go by faster. I downloaded two pictures of one of our Halloween parties. I am sure Pat and Tashara will enjoy them. I loved that you loved your shoes (flip flops) and Hello Kitty. We will miss you. Me, Mary I. and Gregoria "Greg". I wish I could hear your voice and your laugh one more time. You were a treasure. Lizabeth"

"Donna, It was a pleasure to work with you and share stories of family and travels. Your smile and laugh were infectious. Your draw to live to the fullest was most seen after your return from those Mexico vacations and seeing that you'd capture lots of the sun's kisses. Go rest my friend on the beaches of calm with our father above. My prayers are with Pat and the remaining family. Sincerely, Gina Cruz"
