"So Sorry for your lost. I can remember the early mornings when your Mother and Father would carry you over to my house to take care of you, which we all enjoyed having you. And your father working with Sam, making your basement into a nice rec-room. We have many good memories. Wishing you all the best in getting thru this. Our prayers are with you. Shirley & Connie Schute"
"I am a first cousin of Rogers. I remember the many times our parents went to his house and played cards. Of course us kids went too. I remember Roger's train set. It was huge. I was younger so I could watch but couldn't touch the train. I also remember a time when Jane Norma and I went to a movie with Gary and Roger in Dubuque. The bus quit so we had to walk the Julian Dubuque Bridge late at night. Boy did we get yelled at by our parents when we got to their house. Roger we will miss you but you left wonderful memories. Bryan you have my deepest sympathy."

"Today I lost a dear friend. I met Roger in 2015 or so in Austin at Trudys. He was the friendly face sitting at the bar with his John Deere cap, iPad and sipping on rum & coke (with a dash of Malibu). A soft-spoken gentle wise old man with so much knowledge and experience to share (a chemistry & biology wizard). My condolences to the Bryan Ricke and family. He was always talking about you and bragging about how wonderful you were. I hope you know that you meant the world to him. He was a great man and will be sorely missed. Chris."
