Carmen Rodriguez-Lopez

Carmen Rodriguez Lopez, age 89, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2019 at her home in Austin. She was born September 27, 1929 to the late Matilde Lopez and Luis Rodriguez.
She is the oldest of nine children, seven preceded her in death. She worked as a teacher assistant at the PS 059 William Floyd Elementary school in Brooklyn. She was loved by many. Carmen had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. She loved life and chatting with friends and family.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Juan Cornier; four children, Josefina, Edwin, Jasper and Annette. She is preceded in death by her son Jose Luis. The family would like to extend our gratitude to New Century Hospice for their care during her illness.
Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Harrell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, January 24 at Harrell Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
