Constance "Connie" Johnson
January 18, 1934 - May 29, 2019

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 3, 2019, at Oakcrest Funeral Services with Pastor Jim Dewar officiating. Inurnment will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10 A.M. until time of services.

Constance Joan Johnson was born January 18, 1934, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Glen and Mildred (Sodawasser) Smith. She grew up in Mason City where she also attended school.

She has five children. Connie worked as a housekeeper in the Mason City area and later as a nurse's aide at the hospital. She spent most of her life in the Mason City area before moving to Algona, near her son, five years ago.

She enjoyed reading and rarely left the house without a book in her hand. She also enjoyed plants, collecting stuffed animals and going to garage sales.

Connie died Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at her home in Algona. She was 85.

Connie is survived by her children, Sharlene Steenblock of Storm Lake; Jo Duckert of Burlington, North Carolina; Karen Kauffman of St. Ansgar; Ronnie Duckert and wife, Vicky of Algona; Vonda Blackford of New Providence; 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Lucy Henning of Mason City and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Mildred; brother, Jerry and sisters, Judy and Jane.
