After school, Tommy worked as a roofer at Hartman's. He also worked at APAC as a call monitor. Tommy became disabled about 15 years ago from a genetic back disease which at times caused him immense pain. He also suffered the last few years with COPD. This also caused him immense pain and suffering. Through his constant pain, he still kept a smile on his face as if nothing was wrong. Tommy had a heart of gold. He loved his boys more than anything and helped them to become the wonderful young men they are today. Tommy was also a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan. He was so happy when they made it to the Super Bowl this year. Even though they lost, it was ok because they were there....Finally!!

Tommy is survived by his wife Kimmie and their boys Dacota Simmons, Dylan (Clarissa) Simmons and Derrek Simmons; lifelong best friend since they were in tot lot, Brian Schneider; brothers Bobby Simmons, Rick (Mary) Simmons, Gary (Chris) Simmons and John Julis; sisters Beverly Cole, Jolene Weeks (Mark Chapman) and Lela Julis; stepdad John Flender; uncles Jerry Fehlhafer, Ron (Rita) Fehlhafer and Hardy Sievers; many cousins, nieces, and nephews; lifelong friend Mark Keller, Jimmie Bates, and Mike Tobin; and his 2 faithful fur buddies Taiko and Lobo.

Tommy is now our guardian angel in heaven. He will walk beside us when we need him. You can talk to him because I truly believe he is with us.

And finally, Tommy always told me what God put on this Earth, he also put in heaven. He said that when the day came for God to take him home he would be on the "pot cloud". So that is where I will meet you when God calls me home Ed. Until then I will miss you and love you forever until I am called home to be with you for all eternity. Kimmie

Tommy's family would like to thank all of our friends and family for their kind words during this difficult time.
