Darlene Patzner
October 21, 1938 - May 6, 2019

Darlene Marjorie Patzner, 80, of St. Charles passed away Monday, May 6, 2019 surrounded by family at Mayo Clinic Hospital- St. Mary's Campus. Darlene was born on October 21, 1938 to Arthur and Harriet (Unnasch) Papenfuss. On June 18, 1960 she married Claude Patzner and they had six children. Darlene worked for Watkins in Winona before she was married; then was a housewife after getting married in 1960 and helped Claude on the family farm starting in 1970. In 1988, she went to work for Kwik Trip until retiring in 2001. Family was the most important part of her life, especially Sundays when everyone gathered for dinner.

Darlene is survived by her three sons, Mark (Wanda) Patzner, Rick Patzner, and Kevin (Lisa) Patzner; two daughters, Debra Patzner and Brenda (Mike) Wenger; 10 grandchildren, Rachel Berg, Amanda Collins & Reese Glover, Jessica Kruger, Jordan Patzner, Victoria & Ashley Wenger, Ethan & Rebecca Patzner, and Derrick Grimes; 3 great-grandchildren, Ava & Ryder Binner and Olivia Berg; siblings, Arlis Feehan, Tina Gile, Lawrence, Alton,Charles, and Marvin Papenfuss.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Claude; daughter, Lori Patzner Grimes, her parents, and brother, Wayne Papenfuss. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Monday, May 13, 2019 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Rev. Tim Biren officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Sunday and one hour prior to Mass both at church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
