"Rest in peace, Nellie. Your warm heart, and delightful (sometimes irreverent) sense of humor will be so missed! You were my first friend when I came to Quincy Jr. High School. By the luck of the alphabet , my name being Foley, I was placed in Miss Ehrhart's home room with Finney and Gallamore, and you took me under your wing and made the new girl welcome. You taught me to dance (at least well enough for those sock hops etc!!) I'll miss knowing you are on the planet but will always have special memories of you and think of you enjoying a reunion with good friends and family who have gone before."

"Sympathy to your family - Nellie was one of a kind- I met her through my mom - Scharlene-she came into my mom's life at a time she needed a real friend. Nellie, Marilyn and my mom - what a trio. She was so talented in decorating - would love watching her redo rooms. It is almost like I can hear her talking- she had her special way of making you laugh. She will definitely be missed."

"Dear Jay, Dana, Leslie and the rest of Nellie's Family and Friends, We will miss Nellie----she was a long time friend and our QHS 1958 Classmate. She made our class reunions memorable with her stories about her life, in general. We have an upcoming reunion in September and believe us, she will be missed. She fought the health battle with dignity and acceptance. Her wit, kindness and thoughtfulness will be missed by all whose lives she touched during her 78 years of life. Rest in peace now Nellie!
