Barbara Ann Robertson

Barbara A. Robertson, age 78, of Quincy, died on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 in her home.

She was born April 22, 1939 in Cortland, NY the daughter of Theodore and Mary Weeks Lobur. On March 17, 1994 she married Kenneth E. Robertson in Estes Park, Colorado.

Barbara was a 1957 graduate of Groton High School in Groton, New York and went on to attend Quincy Beauty Academy at Gem City College. She also worked in the construction field being one of the few women in the industry. Barbara had a knack for decorating and keeping everything organized. While living in Estes Park Colorado she worked for the school district as the Head of the Bakery Department. Barbara and Kenneth moved to Quincy in 1998.

Barbara was active with Home Extension and served as the secretary of the Great River Parkinson's Support Group. She was a member of Ellington Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Barbara will long be remembered by family and friends for her love of sewing, knitting and crafts. Most things she handcrafted were given away as gifts including the beautiful, quilted wall hangings in the church sanctuary. She loved all things outdoors: camping, gardening, and walks through the park. Barbara was a fabulous cook and loved to entertain.

Survivors in addition to her husband include four children, three sons, Richard Roberts of Dunedin, FL, Steven Roberts of Katy, TX, Jeffrey Roberts of New Port Richey, FL, and Tina (Jeff) Waggener of Decatur, AR; three stepchildren, Kent (Penny) Robertson of Dallas City, IL, Steve (Laura Zanger) Robertson of Quincy, Debra (Dan) Dwyer of Groton, NY; seven grandchildren, Blake and Justine Roberts, Jordan Waggener (Jake) VanLue, Hannah Waggener, and Tyler, Lindsey and Emmey Roberts; three great-grandchildren, Camryn Roberts-Crone, and Carter and Corbin VanLue; five step-grandchildren; and two brothers, Richard (Sharon) Lobur of Reddington Shores, FL, and Theodore Lobur, Jr. of Gulfport, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.

Services: 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Ellington Memorial Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ron Cox officiating.

Burial: Ellington Home Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois

Visitation: 10:00 to 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Ellington Memorial Presbyterian Church.
