Charles F. Ely, age 83, of Quincy, died Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at 4:25 am in his home.
Charles was born May 26, 1933 in Stoutsville, Missouri, the son of Leon and Adelaide Hurd Ely. He married Merrigold "Meg" Parrish on December 31, 1993 in Madison, MO. She survives.
In addition to his wife, Meg Ely, Charles is survived by: two sons: Blake (Mary) Ely of Bradenton, FL; and Kelly (Frances) Ely of San Antonio, TX; six grandchildren; four step-children: Cindy (Arlyn) Voorhis of Liberty, MO; Sandy D. (Willma) Heckman of Windsor, Colorado; Thad (Patty) Heckman of Carbondale, IL; and Tammy (Michelle) Bringaze of North Hampton, MA; and eight step-grandchildren.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Barbara Jo Giblin.
Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 13, 2017 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Wayne Lock officiating.
