Amanda Nicole Krutmeier, age 34, of 1994 N. 1100th, Liberty, died Sunday, August 17, 2014, at 4:48 am near Liberty.
Amanda was born April 13, 1980 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of John E. "Jay" and Beth Suzanne Orr Newman She married Donald Craig Krutmeier on July 12, 2003 in Quincy. He survives.
Amanda was a 1998 graduate of Quincy Senior High School, attended John Wood Community College, and graduated from the University of Illinois, Springfield in 2002. She was the office manager and an insurance agent with the O'Brien Insurance Agency.
Amanda attended Liberty Christian Church, was a member of the Adams County Beef Producers, was treasurer/secretary and one of the founding members of the Liberty Booster Club, was the coordinator of the Liberty Boys Summer Baseball League and was coach of the Liberty Girls Summer softball team. Amanda had a love for the outdoors, from horseback riding on the family farm to working in her vegetable and flower garden. She enjoyed helping her children show cattle in the local fairs, and would even go with her family to deer hunt. But her real passion was softball which started at an early age and which she continued playing throughout her life. She especially enjoyed this last summer, when she coached her daughter, Brynn, to follow in her footsteps - pitching fast pitch softball. She didn't stop there. She also coached her son's baseball team, the Dirt Devils. Amanda was instrumental in preserving the youth baseball program in Liberty, and she loved it.
Amanda will always be remembered for her ever present, fun-loving smile and her love of life.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: her two children: Brynn Nicole and Carter John Krutmeier; her father, John E. "Jay" (Karla) Newman II of Quincy; her sister, Jessica Moore of Quincy; two step sisters: Laura Goehl of Quincy and Amanda Goehl of Stuart, FL; paternal grandparents, John and Doris Newman of Quincy; maternal grandparents, Juliann Orr and Wayne (Bev) Orr; her in-laws, Stan and Jeanne Krutmeier; two sisters-in-law, Krista (Boyd) Tenhouse, and Heidi (Phil) Klingele; eight nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Amanda was preceded in death by her mother, Beth Suzanne Newman and an aunt Terrie Sadberry.
Services: 10:00 am Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Liberty Christian Church with Rev. Terry Henry officiating.
Burial: Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois
Visitation: Friday, August 22, 2014 from 3 - 7 pm at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Quincy
