Bill W. Launer, age 64 of Quincy, died Sunday, June 8, 2008 at 2:55 a.m. in Blessing Hospital.
He was born October 4, 1943 in Tennessee, Illinois the son of Wilbur and Lucille Jones Launer. On April 5, 1965 he married Betty Boss in Quincy, Illinois. She survives.
He was a 1961 graduate of Bowen High School, and he worked as a welder at Knapheide Manufacturing for 11 years. Bill was a hard worker who took pride in all that he did. He also took pride in teaching his skills to others. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting for arrowheads and other artifacts. Bill loved his children and grandchildren very much. He also loved his buddies Hemi and Pepper.
He was of the Christian faith.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons: Kevin Launer and his wife, Madge, of Quincy; and Jason Launer of Quincy; a daughter, Kim Williams of Beatrice, NE; nine grandchildren: Joshua Launer, Zack Williams, Elijah Williams, Dallas Launer, Tyler Launer, Ashley and Alanna Launer, Heaven Launer, and Shelby Launer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Brian.
