Chad Eric Herring

Chad Eric Herring, age 31, of 1431 Oak, died Monday, February 12, 2007 at 2:35 p.m. in Blessing Hospital.

He was born on January 4, 1976 in Quincy, Illinois the son of Dean and Karen Kuhn Herring. On August 12, 2006 he married Julie Ann Kroeger in Quincy, Illinois. She survives.

He was a 1994 graduate of Central High School in Camp Point, and attended Vatterott College. He worked in sales and installation at Prime Time Audio. Chad was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. He enjoyed playing softball and bowling, and he was active in athletics. Chad also enjoyed NHRA drag racing, Cardinal baseball, and Illini basketball. He had a passion for collecting baseball cards, toy tractors, and other collectibles.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his parents; a sister, Dana Herring of Quincy; his maternal grandfather, Gerald Kuhn of Quincy; his paternal grandmother, Mildred Herring of Quincy; an uncle, Wayne Kuhn and his wife, Lucy, of Mendon, IL; four aunts: Jana Casper and her husband, Bill, of LaGrange, MO; Brenda Sprague and her husband, Mark, of Quincy; Cindy Cassens and her husband, Eric, of Camp Point, IL; and Marilyn Fleer and her husband, Dennis, of Cedar Rapids, IA; his father and mother-in-law, Jeff and Vicki Kroeger of Quincy; a sister and brother-in-law, Katrina and Brian Kroeger both of Quincy and Katrina's unborn daughter, who would have been Chad's God daughter; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Kuhn; paternal grandfather, Roy Herring; two uncles, Douglas Herring and Charles Scott, and three cousins, Michael and Stephanie Scott, and Angela Kuhn.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 17, 2007, at 9:30 a.m. at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home followed by a 10:00 a.m. mass at Blessed Sacrament Church with the Monsignor Michael Kuse officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, February 16 from 3-7 p.m., with a wake service at 6:00 p.m. Memorials made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or Blessed Sacrament Church in his name would be appreciated.
