Diane Kay Parsons

Diane Kay Parsons, age 69, 3208 Lindell, Quincy, died Thursday, August 25, 2005 at 3:32 a.m. in Blessing Hospital.

She was born November 20, 1935 in Albia, Iowa, the daughter of Dan D. and Marian Godfrey Humeston. On August 29, 1953, she married Wayne Ruskin Parsons in Fairfield, Iowa. He survives.

Mrs. Parsons was a 1953 graduate of Fairfield High School, she also attended Indiana University at South Bend, Indiana. She was an Alcohol Counselor with the Salvation Army in South Bend, Indiana. She also was a family therapist at Wabash Valley Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana and at Mary Margaret Hospital in Batesville, Indiana. She came to Quincy in February of 1983. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Chapter F, P.E.O where she was the current Treasurer, and Bayview Knitting Guild where she is a past president.

Survivors in addition to her husband are 4 children, Jeffery D. Parsons and his wife Carla, South Bend, IN, Robert Hayes Parsons and his wife Audra, Liberty, IL, Kelsey Sue Parsons, Quincy and K. John Parsons and his wife Annette, Clarks Hill, IN; 6 grandchildren, Joshua Parsons, South Bend, IN, Richard Tyler Parsons, Liberty, IL, Lauren Kay Parsons, North Webster, IN, Erika Rene' and Michael Vincent Parsons, Clarks Hill, IN and Cassandra Reed, Warrington, MO; 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dan C. Humeston and his wife Fern, Clinton, AR; a sister, D. Sue Rampelberg and her husband Gene, Slinger, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Patrick

Memorial Services will be held Monday at 2 pm in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Farr officiating. Graveside services will be Tuesday at 1 pm in Union Cemetery in Fairfield, Iowa. Memorial contributions may be made to Kelsey Sue Parsons Fund or the American Cancer Society American or the Diabetes Association.
