Carlene A. "Corky" Meyer, age 72, of 2008 Jersey died Friday, October 29, 2004 at 4:00 am in Blessing Hospital.

She was born December 23, 1931 in Quincy, the daughter of Carl and Irene Fuhrman Zang. She married Robert Miller on January 14, 1951 in Quincy and he preceded her in death on January 23, 1967. On October 14, 1972 she married Paul Meyer in Quincy. He survives.

She was a 1949 graduate of Quincy High School and attended Gem City Business College. She was employed by the Quincy Clinic, and also employed by Quincy High School as a secretary in the main office from 1968-1972.

She attended St. Peter's Catholic Church. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and the Quincy Women's City Club where she was an avid bridge player and active in City-Rama, was a volunteer at the Blessing Tea Room, and was a member of the Quincy Museum.

Survivors also include 2 sons, Kurt C. Miller of Chicago, IL, Christopher P. Miller of St. Louis, MO; daughter-in-law, Mary L. Miller of Springfield, IL; 4 stepchildren, Sharon A. Zehnle of Quincy, Greg P. Meyer and his wife Gloria of Carmel, CA, Dennis B. Meyer and his wife Durinda of Quincy, Christopher J. Meyer of Quincy; 9 grandchildren, Lindsey and Tyler Miller, both of Springfield, Brian Zehnle, Chicago, Stacy Ludwig, Matt, Nick, Joseph, Jenna, and Sarah Meyer, all of Quincy; 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Ric Miller, two brothers, Carl, Jr. and Jack, and a son-in-law, Bob Zehnle.

Services will be held Monday, November 1, 2004 at 9:30 am in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 am St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Father Dan Bergbower and Rev. George Youtzy officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Catholic School or the Paul Meyer Scholarship at Quincy University.
