Glenn Albert Nelson, age 82, of Quincy, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at 9:54 pm in Blessing Hospital.

Glenn was born on October 12, 1931 in Canton, MO, a son of Carl Ander and Wilhelmine Luetkehans Nelson.

He was married August 4, 1951 in Lewis County, MO to Wilda Thorington. She survives.

Glenn was a 1949 graduate of Palmyra High School. He attended Westminster College.

He was employed by Motorola Inc. for 25 years as a foreman. He later worked for Gardner-Denver, Harris, and Pinkerton, Inc.

In addition to his wife, Glenn is survived by; three children: Wilma (Dave) Theobald of Bloomington, IL; Richard (Kathy) Nelson of Quincy; and April Nelson of Quincy; four grandchildren: Amanda (Dan) Miller, Bryant (Deanna) Theobald, and Sarah and Elizabeth Nelson; and four great-grandchildren: Braeden Miller, Keagan Theobald, Emersen Theobald, and Asher Theobald.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Stanley and Carl Allen Nelson.

Services: 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Hayden officiating.

Burial: Greenmount Cemetery

Visitation: 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday January 24, 2014 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
