Madelaine V. Penn, age 88, of 2130 Harrison, Quincy, died Monday, December 22, 2003 at 3:37 am in Good Samaritan Home.

She was born March 26, 1915 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Sam and Lillian Pollock Bell. She married Earl Penn, and he preceded her in death in 1971.

She was a 1934 graduate of Quincy High School. She worked at Quincy Speaker and Davis Cleaver. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness.

Survivors include a son, Larry Penn and his wife Barbara, Payson, IL; 2 grandchildren, Arminda 'Mindy' Christian and her husband Brian of Manheim, Germany, and Lori Dabney, Payson; 2 great grandchildren, Nolan Parker Christian and Jared Riley Christian, Mannheim, Germany and 1 brother, Quenton Bell, Quincy. She was also preceded in death by a son, Donald in infancy and a great grandson Eric Penn.

Funeral Services will be held Monday at 10:00 am in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4-7 pm in the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Good Samaritan Home.
