Don C. Caley, age 89, of 429 South 36th, Quincy, died Sunday, December 21, 2003 at 9:41 am in Blessing Hospital.
He was born April 24, 1914 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Claude and Ethel Hunter Caley. On January 28, 1937, he married Marguerite Andrew in Quincy. She survives.
He retired from Gardner Denver after 25 years. Don was a farmer at heart having been raised on the family farm.
Survivors in addition to his wife are 4 children, Connie Loos and her husband Fred, Payson; Maureen Hare and her husband, Eldon, Macomb, IL; Verna Taylor and her husband, Jim, Golden, IL; Don Caley and his wife, Louise, Mendon, IL; 14 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters Leola Askew, Quincy and Geraldine Neil, Stillwell, IL. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Art and John Caley and one sister Clarice Crabtree Walker.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 26, 2003 at 1:30 pm in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev. Russell Corrigan officiating. Visitation will be Friday morning from 12:30 - 1:30 pm. Entombment will be in the Mendon Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorials may be given to Loraine Christian Church.
