Eva Sue Vaughn, age 60, of 1106 Payson, Quincy, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at 10:30 pm in Blessing Hospital.
She was born July 21, 1943 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Elmo and Sylvia Johns Jenkins. On May 10, 1970, she married Daniel Vaughn in Quincy. He survives.
She was a 1961 graduate of Quincy High School, and she was employed by Motorola and American Building Supply. She was a member of Grandview Baptist Church where she was a volunteer church secretary and had been active in Bible School until her health prohibited her. She loved arts and crafts, and reached out to many people with her talents. Her favorite hobby was her grandchildren.
Survivors in addition to her husband are her mother, Sylvia Jenkins, Mendon, IL; 2 daughters, Kim Liesen, her husband Gary, and their children Robert, Ryan and Kathryn Taylor of Quincy, Tracy Ulrich, her husband Jeff, and their children Kassondra, Jacob and Krykette Ulrich, Payson; 1 great grandson, Lee Ulrich; 1 sister, Mary Ann Mullins, Bloomington, IL ; 3 nephews and some very special friends Heidi (Lohman) Young, Susie Jones, Patty Rowsey and Jennifer Fuqua. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother Robert Jenkins.
Memorial Services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, October 4, at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev Tom Waters and Rev. John Wanberg officiating. The family will receive friends from Noon Saturday until the time of services at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Quincy Humane Society.
