Robert W. Ewing, 80, 720 Sycamore, Quincy, (formerly of 905 No. 15th) died Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at 7:40 pm at the Sycamore Health Care.

He was born July 16, 1923 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Emery W. and Clara Landwher Ewing. On June 14, 1973, he married Nina M. Bowman in St. James Lutheran Church. She survives.

Mr. Ewing worked for Premier Laundry, D and H Restaurant Supply, and Co-owner of B and R Rabern until retiring. He was a graduate of Liberty High School. Mr. Ewing was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. He was a life member of North Side Boat Club and U.C.T.. His hobbies included hunting and fishing and working puzzles.

Survivors in addition to his wife are 1 brother, John Ewing and his wife Lois; 1 daughter, Linda Dietrich; 2 granddaughters, Sabrina Gill and Kimberly McCormick; 1 grandson, Kelsey McCormick; and 1 great granddaughter, Lacy Gill, all of Springfield, IL; 2 sister-in-laws, Christina Frese and her husband Edwin and Freda Ewing; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers Arthur, Ralph, and Harry and a sister Ellen Steinkamp.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, August 30, at the St. James Lutheran Church, Rev. Marlin R. Rempfer officiating. Burial in Greenmount Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm Friday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association or St. James Lutheran Church.
