Mildred 'Millie' Morgan

Mildred "Millie" Morgan, age 73, of 2130 Harrison, Quincy, died Monday, April 28, 2003 at 10:00 am in Good Samaritan Home.

She was born November 26, 1929 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Irving and Rosa Besanko Gardner. On January 31, 1948, she married Paul Morgan in Quincy, IL. He survives.

She was a 1947 graduate of Quincy High School and a member of the National Honor Society. She attended Gem City Business College. She was employed as a cook at St. James School and at Woodland Home. She held secretarial positions at Quincy Park District, Norris Chiropractic Clinic and Family Service Agency of Adams County retiring in 1988. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Millie loved cooking and baking and was fond of their dog, Angel.

Survivors in addition to her husband are a son, J. P. Morgan, Payson, IL; 1 daughter, Lynda Baker and her husband, Steve, Quincy, and 1 grandson, Michael Baker, Quincy. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Leo, Bill and Ward; 2 sisters, Sylvia Meyer and Grace Miller.

Funeral Services will be 3:00 pm Thursday, May 1, 2003 at 3:00 pm in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev. Larry Troxel officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:30 -6:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
