Patricia "Pat" Gosnell, age 75, of 2516 Ghost Hollow Road, Quincy, died Sunday, February 2, 2003 at 5:15 am in Blessing Hospital.
She was born September 25, 1927 in Telfair County, Georgia, the daughter of Hamilton and Clara Fordham Ryals. On February 8, 1950, she married Richard Gosnell in Jacksonville, Florida. He survives.
In 1975 she and Richard made a home on "Ghost Hollow Acres", where she opened the Barn Swallow Antique Shop. She bought and sold "primitives" for many years, never tiring of searching for special pieces wherever she traveled. She loved identifying stars in old movies, listening to country music, watching Michael Jordan play basketball, planting flowers in her yard, and worrying about her children and grandchildren.
Survivors in addition to her husband are 4 children, Kenneth Lee Gosnell and his wife Judy, Warsaw, IL; Sunny Lynn Olsen, Haslett, MI; Richard Arlin Gosnell, Quincy; Julie Ann Schuster and her husband Glen, Woodbury, MN; 12 grandchildren, Chad, Zeb, Clayton, and Annie Olsen, all of Michigan, Luke, Ben, Alexandra and Rebecca Gosnell, all of Warsaw, IL, Kaitlin and Kristen Gosnell, both of Quincy, Anton and Leif Schester, both of Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Lucille Stephens.
Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday, February 6, at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev. Bruce Willard officiating. Burial in Quincy Memorial Park, Quincy. The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Wednesday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children's Hospitals.
